Bangladeshi kin rapes Kolkata teen on pretext of drinking water

According to a preliminary investigation, when the victim's mother was away for work, the accused entered the house and raped the lone victim.

KOLKATA: A Class XII student was raped allegedly by her Bangladeshi relative who entered her house on the pretext of drinking water and raped her in Tollygunge area of Kolkata on Friday.

The accused Abhinath Mistry had come to India to visit his relatives in Kolkata. According to a preliminary investigation, the victim was alone at home while her mother was away for work when the accused, the victim's maternal uncle's brother-in-law entered the house and sought an Indian SIM card.

After taking the SIM card, he came back again seeking some water to drink. However, he overpowered the victim and raped her as soon as she went to fetch water. The victim stayed at a hostel and had come to visit her mother as she was unwell. Regent Park police have arrested the accused and pressed POCSO Act against him.
