President Ram Nath Kovind to be the chief guest at IIT, Kharagpur convocation

Selected alumni to get the Distinguished Alumnus Award on the basis of their exemplary contributions to the domains of science and technology, industry, academia and society.

KHARAGPUR: President Ram Nath Kovind will be the chief guest at the 64th convocation of IIT Kharagpur here on July 20, the institute said on Wednesday.

Close to 2,400 students will receive degrees in courses like MBA, ABTech, BArch, Dual BTech and MTech, MTech, Masters in Medical Science and Technology from institute director Partha Pratim Chakrabarti on the occasion.

Students clearing Masters in Human Resource Management, MBA and Executive MBA, Postgraduate Diploma in Business will also get their degrees or diplomas.

The institute will also give the Distinguished Alumnus Award to select alumni on the basis of their exemplary contributions to the domains of science and technology, industry, academia and society.

IIT Kharagpur is the oldest and largest IIT which was set up in 1951. Now its student strength is over 12,000, including regular and others and close to 700 faculties,
