NEW DELHI: A 22-year-old woman alleged she was gangraped in a moving vehicle in March and then earlier this week in Ahmedabad. The men also videotaped the act and blackmailed her, she told police. The Gujarat police have filed a case against five men and two women in connection with the case. The woman told police the four masked men, who were in a SUV, abducted her from the service road between the Jhansi Ki Rani statue and Nehrunagar while she was waiting for someone in the month of March. Following this, she was sedated, the FIR stated.
While two Hindi-speaking men raped her and penetrated her with a stick, the other two filmed it, the woman said in the FIR. "One of the four persons said in Hindi that I was right to be scared and then hit me on my head with a stick. I suffered a swelling from the injury but did not go for treatment. They then snatched my purse, which had passport-sized photographs of me, Rs 1,000 and my cellphone," according to the FIR.
The police registered an FIR for rape and illegal confinement on Thursday. The four threatened her to not speak about it and that they would kill her boyfriend and sister if she revealed about the rape, the woman told police. She was allegedly dumped at the same place where she was picked up from.
The woman was repeatedly blackmailed over the video which the four threatened to leak if she did not comply with their demand of giving them Rs 50,000. One of the four accused, identified as Vrushabh, sent the woman pictures taken during the rape and sought sexual favours, said the complaint. The woman once complied with their demand, said the FIR. The blackmail continued with the four and two girls threatening the 22-year-old to publish the video. She was again abducted and molested in a car on Wednesday evening, according to police. They filmed the molestation again, said the FIR. The girl called the 181 helpline to report the incident.
