Q: Why did Cho Ramaswamy call Mr. Modi-- Merchant of Death? What did he mean? Very puzzling. And Modi did not mind it.

A: I think you haven't heard the tape. He called Modi a Merchant of death, who ensures the death of corruption, terrorism and anti-national elements. It was meant to define the strong personality of Narendra Modi.

Q: Few tamil channels declared the death of Jayalaithaa in the evening and retracted. Is this not irresponsible reporting without verification. There was a mini riot outside Apollo hospital. Why the Editors Guild is silent which shouted vociferously when NDTV India was punished? Will any action be taken against the channels or will it be defended as freedom of expression?

A: In a competitive news environment such gaffes are bound to occur. It wasn't a mischief to cause any riot. It was a genuine error for which all of them apologised later.

Q: Do you support the farm loan waiver scheme proposed by Rahul Gandhi? PM Modi cannot just accept or reject such populist issues involving huge effect on public finances. I feel we must avoid vote bank politics notwithstanding the electoral benefit mindset of our politicians.

A: Farm loans have been waived in the past. Even few BJP state governments have done it in past. It is the part of an electoral politics and not a single party is an exception to it.

Q: How do you rate the level of success of demonetisation move of PM Modi? Notwithstanding implementation blues and underpreparedness don't you think PM Modi is sincere in his endeavours as far as demonetisation move is concerned?

A: Modi never makes non-serious moves. He does what he thinks is right irrespective of the consequences. He has taken a big risk. Now let us wait for some time.
