LohaniHyderabad, Dec 7 (PTI) Government organisations havethe potential to become as successful as private enterpriseswith simplified processes, Railway Board Chairman AshwaniLohani said here today.
"Government institutions, including publicenterprises, have the potential to become as successful asprivate enterprises and this is possible only when adeliberate attempt is made to overhaul the archaic culture inwhich complex processes are more important than achieving thegoals," a release from the MCR HRD Institute of Telanganaquoted him as saying in an address to trainee civil servants.
The release stated that Lohani underlined theimportance of simplifying processes and bringing aboutstructural reforms so as to make government institutionsvibrant, competitive and result-oriented.
The release quoted Lohani as saying that the ultimatesuccess of an organisation depends solely on the availabilityof competent human resources though money and materialresources are important in their own right.
"Employees possess great potential which should befully tapped by making them a part of the big picture,empowering them through delegation of authority, andappreciating their contribution," the release quoted Lohani.
