New Delhi, Dec 12 (PTI) Vice-President Venkaiah Naiduwill inaugurate a world conference on the Vedas at the IndiraGandhi National Centre for Arts (IGNCA) here on December 15,social activist Swami Agnivesh said today.

The three-day 'Vishwa Ved Sammelan' will have in-depthdiscussions on de-mystifying various myths and fallaciessurrounding the Vedas and Manu Smriti, he said.

The valedictory function of the conference will beattended by former president Pranab Mukherjee.

The event will witness daily 'havan' ritual amid chantingof the Vedic hymns by Muslim women to showcase that theancient scriptures are available for the whole mankind toderive its benefits, Agnivesh said.

Fifty one couples having interfaith and intercastemarriages will be felicitated during the event, he said.

A special session on the World Parliament and endorsementof the Constitution for the Federation of Earth, and Veda, theUnited Nation's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) anddeclaration on human rights will be other salient features ofthe conference, the social activist said.

The eminent speakers of the event will include RajyaSabha Vice Chairman P J Kurien, Vijay Bhatkar, SwamiChidanand, Surdarshan Jugessur, Glen Martin, Arif MohammadKhan and Acharya Nardeva, he added. PTI VITKJ.
