Bankura (WB), Dec 13 (PTI) Family members of thelabourer from West Bengal, who was found dead in Kerala,claimed that he was murdered and did not commit suicide assaid by the police of the southern state.

Forensic examination of the body of Hemanta Roy Bagdi,an electrician working in Alappuzha district of Kerala, wouldbe conducted after it arrives here tonight or tomorrow, thepolice here said.

The incident came shortly after another labourer fromWest Bengal was hacked and burnt to death in Rajasthan.

Hemanta was found dead with his throat slit in thetoilet of the house where he was staying at Pannvally underPoochhakkahl police station on December 10, Bankura SPSukhendu Heera said.

Bankura police also talked over phone to people whohad been working with Hemanta and they too said he killedhimself with a knife which has been recovered.

Though the local police authorities in Kerala saidafter post-mortem examination that he committed suicide, hisfamily members are not convinced and alleged he was murdered,Heera said.

He said Hemanta's father Ananda Roy Bagdi was of theopinion that his son was murdered but did not know the reason.

Sub-divisional Police Officer of Bishnupur S K Dassaid forensic examination of the body would be conducted afterits arrival from Kerala.

Hemanta, a resident of Roll village under Indas policestation in Bankura district, had gone to Kerala in search of ajob in September. He was married and had a 6-month-olddaughter. PTI CORNN.
