Ahmedabad, Nov 13(PTI) Sleuths of the Ahmedabad ZonalUnit of Narcotics Control Bureau(NCB) apprehended two personswith 10 Kg hashish from Ahmedabad airport on Saturday, asenior official said today.
Acting on a tip off, the sleuths apprehended oneFarooq Ahmed Reshi, who was carrying a box, upon his arrivalat the domestic terminal on Saturday night, he said.
"Upon checking the box, we found 10 kg of charas(hashish) rolled into balls and concealed in the box. Alongwith Reshi, a resident of Jammu and Kashmir, we have alsoapprehended one Shakeel Qureshi, who came at the airport toreceive the contraband, said zonal director of Ahmedabad-NCBHari Om Gandhi.
He said the approximate market value of the seizedcontraband is Rs one crore.
"We have also seized Rs two lakh cash from Qureshi, anative of Nagpada in Mumbai and currently resides here. Theywere arrested under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs andPsychotropic Substances Act, 1985," said Gandhi.
As per primary investigation Reshi's brother wasrecently arrested in Mumbai in a narcotics case while Qureshiis a "wanted" by Mumbai NCB in another case, said Gandhi. PTIPJT PDNRB.
