New Delhi, Nov 15 (PTI) Jeera prices rose by 0.76 percent to Rs 19,280 per quintal in futures trade today asspeculators created fresh positions, driven by pick-up indemand from stockists and overseas enquiries.

Tight stocks position following restricted arrivals fromthe growing regions fuelled the uptrend.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeerafor delivery this month rose by Rs 145, or 0.76 per centhigher, to Rs 19,280 per quintal, with an open interest of 303lots.

Likewise, the contract for December was trading higher byRs 110, or 0.55 per cent up, at Rs 19,760 per quintal, theopen interest of contract stood at 13,554 lots.

Traders said speculative positions built up byparticipants amid rising domestic as well as export demand,mainly led to the rise in jeera prices at futures trade. PTIDP SUNSBT.
