Puducherry, Nov 24 (PTI) The Pondicherry University hasinked a MoU with the Consortium for Educational Communication(CEC) of the UGC to meet the needs of higher education throughthe use of multimedia, TV and emerging informationcommunication technologies.
The MOU would pave the way for the development ofinfrastructure facilities to create multimedia educationalcontent and also provide guidance and technical support toaccess the institutions through digital facility.
The MOU also envisaged integration of the digitallearning with conventional learning in higher education,Assistant Registrar of the university K Mahesh said in arelease here.
The officiating Vice Chancellor of the University AnisaBasheer Khan and the Director of the CEC Rajbir Singh inkedthe MOU recently.
The CEC would provide e-resources and open educationalresources.
The University would provide the infrastructure includinghigh end server and an adequate number terminals and LANnetworking to set up the digital lounge in the University`scentral library.
Students can access the content through their mobilephones through wireless network as well and the e-resourceswould be used only for academic and research purposes, therelease added. PTI Cor RC.
