Aizawl, Oct 13 (PTI) A huge cache of arms and ammunitionwas recovered from a jungle by security forces from a hut nearSabualtlang village in Lawngtlai district of Mizoram, a policereport said today.
The recovered arms and weapons were two AK-47 assaultrifles, one 1.9 mm carbine, one 1.22 rifle, 14 magazines ofdifferent kinds of guns, 674 rounds of live ammunition and 36detonators.
They also recovered two sets of wireless equipment and acompass.
The operation was jointly launched by Mizoram police andAssam Rifles on Wednesday, the report said.
Police suspected that the arms were hidden by Myanmareseinsurgent groups operating in the area. PTI HCV PRPR.
