Mars topped the list with six nods in Artist of the Year,Video of the Year, Favourite Male Artiste - Pop/ Rock,Favourite Album - Soul/ R&B, Favourite Song - Soul/ R&B andFavourite Artiste - Adult Contemporary categories, reportedBillboard.
The "24K Magic" singer was closely followed by Sheeranand Drake tied with five nominations each.
Besides the three artistes, The Chainsmokers and KendrickLamar are also up for the fight to win the award for Artist ofthe Year.
In the New Artist of the Year category, the tussle isamong James Arthur, Niall Horan, Julia Michaels, Post Maloneand Rae Sremmurd.
Rihanna has been nominated in two categories of FavouriteFemale Artist for Pop/ Rock and Soul/ R&B.
Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Shakira are contenders inthe category of Favourite Artiste - Latin.
The Weeknd's 'Starboy' is up for some competition fromDrake and Mars in the Favourite Album category.
