Chitrakoot bypoll on November 9
Bhopal, Oct 13 (PTI) The Election Commission todayannounced that the by-election to fill the vacant Chitrakootassembly seat in Madhya Pradesh will be held on November 9.
The voting for the bypoll in Chitrakoot assemblysegment under Satna district will take place on November 9while counting would be held on November 12, an official ofthe public relations department said.
This bypoll was necessitated following the death ofCongress MLA Prem Singh in May this year.
The official said the process of filing the nominationwill begin with the issuance of the notification on October16.
The model code of conduct has come into force withimmediate effect in the entire Satna district, he said.
Singh had passed away after prolonged illness on May29 this year. He was 65.
He was a three-time MLA from Chitrakoot, from wherehe won in 1998, 2003 and 2013. PTI ADU MASRMT.
