Bhubaneswar, Oct 13 (PTI) The Odisha government todaysaid its State Level Facilitation Cell (SLFC) has cleared atotal of 98 projects worth Rs 1,73,270 crore since itsinception in August 2015.

The cell reviews investment proposals received by thestate, as well as assists companies in actualising investmentson the ground.

Some of the big-ticket projects cleared by SLFC sinceits inception include JSW Steel Ltd's 10-MT steel plant atParadip with an investment of Rs 50,000 crore, DeepakFertiliser's unit at Paradip worth Rs 1,750 crore andexpansion of Paradeep Phosphate's fertiliser unit at aninvestment of Rs 9,459 crore.

"The state government strongly believes in building aconducive environment for potential investors and existingindustries in the state. In this endeavour, we allcontinuously need to work together towards making the state apreferred destination for industries," state IndustriesMinister Niranjan Pujari said here.

Pujari said the facilitation cell took an average timeof 7.41 days to review and clear green category projects, and13.26 days for non-green projects.

The minister also launched the inclusion of legalmetrology verifications in central inspection framework (CIF)for making it more transparent and industry-friendly.

The framework for industries entails inspectionthrough standard operating procedures and transparentchecklists, along with risk-based selection of companies.

There is also a provision of online inspection reportsfor company verification within 48 hours of its completion. Atpresent, there are 4,637 industries that come under CIF.

"The central inspection framework ensures that theindustry does not face any kind of difficulty whileinspections.

"Also, verification can be done via the newly-launchedlegal metrology verification, which will also take care ofonline payment of fees," Industries Secretary Sanjeev Choprasaid. PTI AAMRBT.
