It has been a year since Najeeb went missing onOctober 15.

Fatima, accompanied by relatives and scores of JawaharlalNehru University (JNU) students, in a strongly-worded speechtold the security personnel to take off their uniforms andjoin her in the protest.

"You should remove your uniforms and protest with me ifyou are sensible, as many of you have sons," she said andwarned of a large protest if there was no progress in the caseby the next hearing.

"Even if you deploy the entire Delhi Police, it would notbe enough," she said, adding after the city police, the CBIhas proven itself "inefficient".

Najeeb's mother had on August 9 protested in the samevenue after the Delhi High Court reprimanded the investigationagency for placing the same status report submitted earlier.

A large number of personnel of Delhi Police, CentralReserve Police Force and Indo-Tibetan Border Police weredeployed to control the crowd that was aggressively trying tobreach the barricades to enter the CBI headquarters.

"Neither the Delhi Police nor the CBI has taken up thebasic investigation protocols in this case," former JNUSUpresident Akbar Chowdhary said.

Among those present at the protest site were KanhaiyaKumar and Umar Khalid, who said they would continue thedemonstration before the CBI headquarters, until a topofficial gave them assurance of swift action in the case.
