Select base metals firm up on rising demand

Mumbai, Oct 13 (PTI) Select base metals including copper, brass and nickel firmed up at the non-ferrous metal market following sustained stockists buying amidst rising demand from industrial users.

While, zinc and lead softened owing to mild demand from alloy industries.

Nickel prices rose by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 760 from Thursday's close at Rs 750.

Copper cable scrap and copper billets moved up by Rs 3 per kg each to Rs 434 and Rs 462 as against Rs 431 and Rs 459 yesterday.

Copper scrap heavy and copper utensils edged down by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 424 and Rs 380 as compared to yesterday's close at Rs 422 and Rs 378.

Copper armature, copper sheet cuttings, brass utensils scrap and brass sheet cuttings inched up to Rs 408, Rs 402, Rs 303 and Rs 318, respectively.

However, zinc and lead inched down to Rs 239 and Rs 162. PTI BPD SBT .
