Darjeeling (WB), Oct 13 (PTI) Several police personnel,including a sub-inspector, were injured today in clasheswith GJM supporters loyal to party supremo Bimal Gurung at aforest in the Darjeeling hills.
Trouble started around 5 am when a police search partyraided a hideout inside the forest near the Patlebas area, astronghold of Gurung, the police said.
Acting on an information that Gurung was hiding in thearea, the police conducted raids during which the GJM leader'ssupporters fired and pelted stones, they said, adding that theclashes are still on.
Gurung has been hiding since August after cases underUnlawful Activities (Prevention) Act were registered againsthim for his alleged involvement in various bomb blasts inDarjeeling and adjoining areas. PTI PNT PRANB.
