Kolkata, Oct 13 (PTI) The West Bengal cabinet todaydecided to set up a Scheduled Caste advisory council to lookinto the development of the Scheduled Caste population in thestate.

There are 66 Assembly seats in Bengal reserved forScheduled Caste candidates.

"The council will look into the development of thesocial, educational, economical and cultural matters of theScheduled Caste population in the state, and function on thelines of the existing tribal advisory council," stateEducation Minister Partha Chatterjee said today. PTI SCHRBT.
