Patna, Oct 13 (PTI) A woman who was fatally injuredwhen two persons inserted iron rods into her private partsduring an alleged rape attempt, has died in a hospital here,police said today.
The 35-year-old woman was attacked in Naubatpur policestation area of rural Patna on Wednesday evening when she hadventured outside her home, superintendent of police (city),Patna (west), Ravindra Kumar said.
She was rushed to a local hospital when she returnedhome bleeding profusely and was later transferred to PatnaMedical College Hospital, where she died late last night, hesaid.
Hospital superintendent Lakhendra Prasad said thewoman had died of excessive bleeding. But whether she had beenraped would be confirmed only after post mortem.
