Mumbai, Jan 14 (PTI) Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Padmaavat"is finally releasing on January 25 after a long struggle withthe censor board and actor Sonam Kapoor says she hopes no filmfaces the same fate as the upcoming period drama.

The 32-year-old actor, who made her debut with Bhansali's"Saawariya" in 2007, wished the filmmaker all the best for themovie.

"I haven't worked with him (Bhansali) for 10 years sincemy first film released. I have been in touch with him. I wishhim all the best for his film. I hope the film releases and Iwon't wish this (protest) on anybody," Sonam told PTI.

Her next release "Padman" is all set for box office clashwith "Padmaavat".

The officials at Viacom18 Motion Pictures, producer ofthe controversy-ridden film, confirmed the release date asJanuary 25 but are yet to make an official announcement.

Sonam hopes the R Balki-directed film would helpeliminate the stigma surrounding menstruation.

"There is lot of stigma attached to menstrual hygiene andhopefully a film like this will change the mindset of peopleto an extent and even create awareness. I hope India isprogressing towards a better future.

"The idea to make any kind of art be it films or anythingis to reach out to more people and propagate something tochange. Any change would be a welcome with our film," shesaid. PTI KKP RDSRDS.
