Srinagar, Jan 14 (PTI) Security forces today recovered animprovised explosive device (IED) on the outskirts ofSrinagar, the second such recovery in the city in as manydays, police said.

The IED was detected by a patrol party of security forcesin Maloora area of Srinagar this morning, a police officialsaid.

He said the area was cordoned off and a bomb disposalsquad was rushed to the spot which destroyed the explosive.

Further details are awaited, the official said.

This is the second IED recovered by security forces in asmany days in Srinagar.

Yesterday, an IED, weighing approximately 5 kg, wasrecovered on the Srinagar-Baramulla Highway in HMT area of thecity – in the close vicinity of Maloora.
