Turkey and allied Syrian rebels yesterday began an airand ground operation, dubbed operation "Olive Branch", aimedat ousting the YPG from the Kurdish-majority pocket.

The launch came despite warnings that the operation couldbe militarily tough against an already battle-hardened foe andcomplicate relations with both Washington and Moscow.
