KOCHI: As the first events in archery, which began here a week ago, were decided, Manipur emerged the strongest, winning two of the four gold medals in the individual round at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium here on Saturday. While Manipur claimed the titles in the men's and mixed events, their own Bijendranath Singh and O Naobi Chanu won the silver medals in the individual events.

Meanwhile, Kerala claimed their first ever medal in archery, as their men's team beat Services in the bronze-medal playoff. Shooting down a total score of 220 against Services' 215, Kerala bested  the previous record of 219, marking a bitter-sweet day for the state in archery. Their mixed team had fallen to Assam 147-131 in the playoff.
