HYDERABAD: A mandal surveyor from West Godavari district was caught today by theAnti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) when he accepted bribe to extend an officialfavour.
The mandal surveyor in the tehsildar office of Jangareddygudem mandal inWest Godavari, Y Venkata Ramana, was caught today at his office when he tookRs 1,500 from a person, B Ashok, a computer businessman from Biyyannagudemvillage in Koyyalgudam mandal of the district. Ashok approached VenkataRamana to conduct survey of his agricultural land.
The surveyor demanded and accepted the money to conduct the survey, anofficial release said today.
Meanwhile, ACB officials conducted a surprise check on the districtregistrar office, (registration and stamps) in Gudur, Nellore district. Thecheck was conducted on information that the officials were resorting tocorrupt and irregular practices.
ACB officials found an unaccounted amount of Rs 1.03 lakh with the districtregistrar, K Srinivasa Rao, during the check. The registrar did not declareany personal cash with him in the office register.
