CHENNAI: Centuries by openers K Srikar Bharat (123, 166b, 9x4, 7x6) and Wilkins Victors (104, 216b, 7x4, 1x6) helped Young Stars CC reach 289 for two on Day 1 of the Plate Group final of the TNCA Senior Division League for the SR Jagannathan Trophy at MAC Stadium on Monday.

Sundar, Valson Feted

Fide vice-president DV Sundar and CK Valson, secretary general, Athletics Federation of India, were conferred a Lifetime Achievement Award for contribution to sports by St Joseph’s Sports Academy on its 17th anniversary function. K Premkumar and G Gayathry were adjudged best athletes of the academy.

All academy trainees who excelled at the national and international level were given cash awards.
