Andhra's Prasanth tipped for Triplicane

The transfer and registration of players for the 2016-2017 season of the TNCA is gathering steam.

CHENNAI: The transfer and registration of players for the 2016-2017 season of the TNCA is gathering steam. DB Prasanth of Andhra, who had a fruitful Ranji Trophy last season and is tipped to lead his state in place of Mohammed Kaif, has been roped in by Triplicane Sports Club, the newly promoted side in the TNCA First Division League.

“Prasanth is a quality player who did well last season. He fits our requirement and since conditions in Andhra are similar to that of TN, he will be a valuable outstation player,” said a TSC source. Prasanth is an opener and occasional leg-spinner.

Chemplast Group will continue with Jayant Yadav and Ankit Bhawne. “We have retained Jayant and Ankit. Deepak Hooda and Vikas Mishra have not been considered because they may not be available for the full season. This is a good opportunity for local lad Shah Rukh Khan,” informed a highly-placed source. “As far as R Ashwin is concerned, he is yet to come to us. The ball is in his court,” added the source.

India Cements is regrouping its three teams. Sources indicated Vijay Shankar and R Rohit may be roped in to strengthen Grand Slam, while Yo Mahesh could play for UFCC T Nagar.
