CHENNAI: Former Indian off-spinner and qualified coach M Venkataramana has been appointed as coach of Take Solutions, one of the eight teams that successfully bid for a franchise of the Tamil Nadu Premier League which is to begin in August this year.

Take Solutions had bid for Dindigul district. Venkataramana is a qualified Level-3 coach and has coached teams in Singapore and has also been a coach at the specialist academy (spin wing) of the BCCI at Chennai.

He has also worked with youngsters at the NCA, Bangalore. He has been part of the team at the SRMC centre of the ICC where the players are sent for testing for chucking and rehab. Along with D Vasu, he had helped the likes of left arm spinner Pragyan Ojha to correct his action.

“We have MRC ‘A’ team in the TNCA league. We also run Swaraj CC and also have tie-ups with many teams in the lower division league of the TNCA. I enjoy working with budding cricketers. There is no dearth of talent in the state and we are confident of forming a good and fighting unit. The TNPL is a fantastic platform for young players to display their skills,’’ said Venkataramana to Express.

“We are extremely pleased and excited that the reins of our team are in the highly capable hands. We are sure that a coach of his calibre will be invaluable in making Dindigul the toughest competitor in the tournament,” said HR Srinivasan, managing director of Take Solutions.
