CHENNAI: M Vijay Hassan’s five-for helped Santhome HSS beat Modern SSS in Suryoday Serenity Cup U-19 inter-school tournament.

Brief scores: Modern SS 148 in 48.5 ovs (Athmaraman 72; Haasan 5/22, V Sanjeev Kumar 3/19) lost to Santhome HSS 151/1 in 20.1 ovs (Shankar 70, Vimal 67). Chettinad Vidyashram 158 in 42.2 ovs (Aditya 61) lost to St Bede’s AIHSS 159/7 in 35.5 ovs (Shubhang 65). PS SSS 170 in 47.5 ovs lost to PSBB, KK Nagar 171/7 in 42.2 ovs (Naveen 3/16).

Pravitto player of the year

Indian Bank’s R Pravitto was adjudged Player of the Year in the Chennai Football Association’s annual day awards function. R Manoj Kumar was named Referee of the Year.

Cricket tourney

Cosmopoliton Club will host an inter-club cricket tournament from 16th June to 8th July at SRMC.
