CARDIFF: Jason Roy was 91 not out in an England total of 184 for three off 30 overs when rain stopped play during the second one-day international against Australia in Cardiff on Saturday.
The Surrey opener had faced just 89 balls, including eight fours and two sixes, after England were sent into bat by Australia captain Tim Paine.
Play resumed after an earlier 27-minute rain-break with no overs lost, but the second stoppage at 1:31pm local time (1231 GMT) was caused by a heavier downpour that threatened to reduce the game from the ODI standard 50 overs per side.
The 27-year-old Roy was aiming to complete just a fifth hundred in 60 ODI matches, with his last century at this level an England record 180 against Australia in Melbourne in January.
England lead this current five-match series 1-0 after a three-wicket victory at The Oval on Wednesday.
