WARANGAL: Tension prevailed at Warangal West TRS MLA D Vinay Bhaskar’s house here when the police arrived to arrest him on Tuesday night for disrupting the AP formation day celebrations.

Nearly 100 policemen descended at the MLA’s place to take him into custody at around 8 p.m.

On hearing about the news, TRS activists gathered there in large numbers and obstructed the police from arresting the legislator.

Earlier in the day Vinay Bhaskar tried to disrupt the AP Formation Day celebrations at Kakatiya College here attended by district collector Rahul Bojja.

The MLA along with his supporters stormed on to the dais and pulled the flexi and raised slogans.

However, the alert police tried to prevent him.

In the melee he fell unconscious and the police shifted him to hospital.

TRS leaders Madhusudhanachary, Peddi Sudarshan Reddy and others entered into heated arguments with the police stating that it was not fair to arrest him in the dead of the night.

With the police remaining adamant on arresting Vinay Bhaskar and his supporters resisting the arrest, the situation remained tense till the last reports came in.
