Yet another MLA from Karnataka is under the scanner of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhan Reddy’s bail scam case. Two MLAs from the nighbouring state, Janardhan Reddy’s brother Somasekhara Reddy and Suresh Babu, have already been arrested by the ACB for the scam.
Janardhan Reddy’s close-aide and independent MLA from Bellary Rural, B Sriramulu, came under the scanner of the ACB after the grilling of the two arrested legislators, sources said.
Sriramulu met Janardhan Reddy several times at the Chanchalguda central prison and his name cropped up during the questioning of Somasekhara Reddy and Kampli legislator TH Suresh Babu. Though Sriramulu’s name came up during questioning, the ACB did not find any clinching evidence against him. The ACB is likely to take Somasekhara Reddy into custody with court’s permission and try to ferret out more information about the involvement, if any, of Sriramulu in the scam.
