Government whip seeks fee cap rollback

Government whip Perni Nani on Tuesday criticised the state government's decision to cap the reimbursement amount of tuition fees of the poor students and demanded an immediate rollback.

While addressing media persons at the Congress Legislature party (CLP) office here on Tuesday, he disapproved the government's decision and termed it as unfair as it would hamper the educational prospects of the students from backward classes.

He further demanded reimbursement of the entire tuition fee of the BC students studying in the engineering colleges.

Nani said that he would write letters to all the members in the cabinet sub-committee on fee reimbursement, who had recommended the capping, and will request the same.
