CPI to launch Telangana stir

The Communist Party of India (CPI) state secretary K Narayana strongly criticised the Telangana Congress MPs and TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao for 'playing drama' on Telangana issue. He demanded that the central government should resolve the issue without any further delay.

Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, the CPI leader announced that his party will launch a political campaign for the statehood of Telangana from August 25 in the state.

Narayana took strong objection to the remarks of chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and Union minister S Jaipal Reddy on gas allocations to the state power plants. He said the Congress party despite having 31 MPs from the state failed to build pressure on the centre to get sufficient gas allocations for the state.

He said D Nagendar should decide whether he wants to continue as a cabinet minister or become a street-rowdy.
