Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao has demanded that TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu appoint a BC or SC leader as the yellow party's floor leader in the Legislative Assembly if the latter's love towards the BCs was not deceptive.
Talking to reporters here on Sunday, Rao wondered how Naidu was being felicitated by his party people for his empty promises for BCs.
According to Rao, Naidu so far had not kept his promises given to BCs on any issue. Hence, Naidu's latest promise of allotting 100 seats to BCs in 2014 Assembly polls would also remain as an empty one.
On the other hand, AICC president Sonia Gandhi has proved her commitment towards the empowerment of the downtrodden classes in the country by appointing Union home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, an SC leader, as the Congress floor leader in the Lok Sabha, Rao said.
