Rift in Congress comes into open again

The truce between PCC chief Botcha Satyanaryana and chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, worked out by the party high command on the eve of the recent byelections, appears to be on the rocks with the PCC president getting back to Kiran-baiting.

The latest issue that has angered the PCC president is that the chief minister did not care to discuss roads and buildings minister Dharmana Prasada Rao's resignation with him. "The chief minister owes an explanation to the people," he said. Not stopping at that, he said he would take up the issue with the party high command himself. Interestingly, Botcha and Dharmana belong to backward classes. Botcha is a Toorpu Kapu and Dharmana a Koppula Velama which is listed as a backward class in North Andhra.
