Dayakar held near CM’s camp office

Police arrested Telugu Desam leader Errabilli Dayakar Rao and others who tried to lay siege to the chief minister’s camp office at Begumpet here on Thursday demanding sevenhour power supply to farmers in Telangana.

While Dayakar Rao was forcibly taken to his residence, two other leaders, Ratnam and Mahender, were taken to the Banjara Hills police station.

Dayakar Rao and other TDP leaders went to the chief minister’s camp office to stage protest even though the chief minister had called him up and gave an assurance that he would ensure power supply to the farm sector for seven hours.

The Telugu Desam has been agitating for sevenhour power supply to the agricultural sector at all mandal and district headquarters for the last three days.

Police placed several senior leaders under house arrest _ Teegala Krishna Reddy at the TDP headquarters in Banjara Hills and Talasani Srinivas Yadav at his residence.
