Dealing with two contempt cases, justice B Chandra Kumar of the High Court has directed James, managing director of AP State Cooperative Rural Irrigation Corporation Limited, to appear before the court on September 3 if he fails to implement the orders passed in February in respect of payment of gratuity to two retired employees.
Petitioners TJ Salomi and B Ramulu, who retired as stenographer and driver respectively, filed the contempt case separately seeking act ion against the respondent.
The court ordered the corporation to pay full gratuity amount to the petitioners within four weeks from the date of receipt of the order copy.
An amount to the tune of Rs 2.78 lakh is to be paid to Salomi towards gratuity and Rs 4.02 lakh Ramulu.
