The incessant rains during the last two days have disconnected several villages along the shores of river Godavari due to overflowing of small rivulets in Mahadevpur mandal of the district on Sunday. Around 16 villages in the Mahadevpur mandal have been cut off due to inundation of several rivulets such as Peddavagu, Palimela and streams in the region. Many villages were submerged in flood waters. With the incessant rains lashing

the district, seasonal diseases like viral fevers are on the rise. There is no purified

water, all the drinking water sources have been polluted with rain water.

There are no doctors in Ambatpalli primary health centre. About 64 people have been suffering from viral fever in Mukunur village. The malaria detection centre opened in Mahadevpur mandal about couple of years back has not been functioning.
