Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Wednesday directed the district collectors to make visits to the government hospitals in their respective district once every week.
The chief minister sanctioned Rs 30 crore for the improvement of the facilities at the MGM hospital in Warangal district after a review at the Secretariat here on Wednesday. He also sanctioned 258 para-medics for various hospitals. The CM announced that a committee would be constituted soon to inspect the facilities at the hospitals. Medical Education minister Kondru Murali said that the committee of ministers, which visited the MGM recently,
confirmed that there was no negligence on the part of doctors for the death of infants. The minister said that lack of precautions by pregnant women which led to premature births of underweight babies was the main reason behind the deaths of infants at the hospital.
