Online payment of bills by social welfare hostels will commence in Visakhapatnam district soon on a pilot basis.
All bills with regard to purchases by the hostels will be paid online with the special software “ehostel”, prepared by the Centre for Good Governance.
Under the e-hostel software package, entities namely vendors - supplier of vegetables, groceries, electricity, water, office stationery, sundry items and others - an employee (tutor or outsourcing agency), house owner (rented buildings) - shall provide the bank account number along with the IFSC code and the bank branch to enable online remittances.
The date of such payment will be announced later.
