Following the Centre’s decision to invite two representatives from each party to the all-party meeting over Telangana issue, the Congress MPs from the region feel that nothing would come out of this meeting.
According to them, allowing two members from each party would only make the T-tangle more complex.
Expecting no positive result from the all-party meeting, some MPs were even keeping options open to join other parties for their political survival. Nagarkurnool MP Manda Jagannadham’s case is a classic example of this. The MP, whose name is doing rounds that he might join the TRS bandawagon, did not rule out these speculations. Jagannadham acknowledged that he had been invited by the TRS supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao to join his party.
Talking to Express, he said that he would think of joining the pink party in case the all-party meet fails to come out with any clarity.
He further said, “T chapter is not closed in the Congress. I am still hopeful that the Congress will take a positive decision on the issue”.
The TRS chief recently told his party leaders that as many as five MPs from the Congress were ready to join the pink party soon.
Meanwhile, Nalgonda MP Guttha Sukhender Reddy did not approve of the Centre’s decision. He termed it as an unfortunate decision. Sources said, Sukhender Reddy too is contemplating to quit the Congress in case nothing comes out .
Speculation is rife that Sukhender Reddy has kept his options open either to join the YSRC or the TRS.
Indirectly expressing his doubts on the outcome of the all-party meet, Nizamabad MP Madhu Yashki Goud also called upon the T supporters to intensify the agitation.
Meanwhile, all the Congress T MPs are planning to meet here on Saturday on how to pressurise their party high command to spell out stance.The MPs were unhappy with the PCC chief’s decision to put a blanket ban on the statehood demand during the party’s meeting slated for Sunday. In the wake of Botcha’s decision, the MPs on Saturday would decide whether to participate in the convention or boycott the meeting.

Interestingly, panchayat raj minister K Jana Reddy exuded confidence that the all-party meeting would bring some clarity on the contentious issue.
The minister, who was in Delhi on Thursday, said that he strongly believed that the Congress will accord statehood to Telangana.
