The state government will introduce vote-on-account, instead of full budget, this year and will present it in March, finance minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy has said.
The government has decided to follow the model of the Lok Sabha in which the demands for grants will be circulated to the Standing Committee.
After that the appropriation bill will be passed by Parliament.
In a similar manner, the state government will present vote-on-account from 2013-14. The demands for grants will be referred to the newly-constituted 10 standing committees comprising members of the Legislative Assembly and Council.
Speaking to reporters in Nellore on Saturday, the finance minister said that after the vote-on-account the Assembly and the Council would be adjourned for a long gap to enable the standing committees to study the Demands for Grants.
Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar constituted as many as ten standing committee to study the demands for grants for around 40 key departments.
