South Central Railway (SCR) general manager G N Asthana on Friday said that the Secunderabad- Visakhapatnam Duronto Express, announced in the last year Railway Budget, would be introduced soon.
Addressing the 67th Zonal Railway Users' Consultative Committee (ZRUCC) meeting at Rail Nilayam in Secunderabad, he said SCR had been successful in meeting public expectations, adding 25 of 75 new trains announced in the current Railway Budget will either originate or pass through stations under the jurisdiction of SCR, to be introduced in a phased manner.
Asthana said SCR was giving top priority to safety works and there was no dearth of funds for construction of roadover- bridges (ROBs), roadunder- bridges (RUBs) or limited height passways.
