Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu cautioned the people to be wary of the Congress and the TRS, as both cheat people with their ways and deeds.
Addressing a massive public gathering at Banuru crossroads in Patancheru mandal in Medak district on Sunday evening, Naidu lashed out at both parties, holding them responsible for the crisis in the state today.
He called upon the people to throw those two parties into the Bay of Bengal, else they would get caught in inferno of woes.
Encouraged by the huge gathering, which was beyond expectations and said to be the largest turnout during his Vastuna Meekosam Padayatra in the Telangana region so far, the TDP chief said people have to only work one day for him, that is on the election day and he will be their servant for the next five years.
He repeatedly cautioned the people not to make mistake in elections, else, the state would turn into another Bihar. Once AP was the role model for other states, today it has become an example for things not to be done, he added.
Recalling his often repeated quote ‘Nenu Nidraponu, Mimmalni Nidraponivvanu’ when he was in power, Chandrababu said he was misunderstood and his only intention was to ensure that everyone works and state progresses.
“Now I will not repeat past mistakes and will give you good, able governance,” he said. Taking a dig at the ruling Congress party, he said what that party excels was in corruption. It had looted country of Rs 9 lakh crore.
Calling Congress as Talli (mother) Congress and YSRCP as Pilla (child) Congress, he said that YSRCP came into existence for only one purpose and that was to save the looted public money and rob whatever is still left.
“Did it emerge for farmers, for SCs or for poor?” he questioned.
Comparing TRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao with Kumbhakarna of Ramayana, he said KCR sleeps for six months and for the next six months makes hungama.
KCR, when he was in TDP for 12 years, delivered lengthy speeches about the party and the party chief. Now, he was doing exactly the opposite.
Chandrababu said 32 Congress MPs from the state have grossly failed to get funds and drought relief for the state, while he, as chief minister, had ensured `50 lakh tonnes of rice to the state and distributed the same to people in need through food-for-work scheme.
“I have developed the IT sector, brought technology to the state and put it on path of development, but Congress wants to claim the credit for itself,” he charged.
On Telangana stand, he said he was never against it or would be in the future. The Congress wants to destabilise him using Telangana issue as a tool, which will never happen, he said.
It took three hours for the TDP chief to cover two km from the outskirts to the heart of Banuru due to the large crowd, consisting mostly of women and youth, that came onto the roads.
He was accompanied by his wife Bhuvaneswari, son Lokesh and some members of NTR family besides party leaders.
