KCR sounds poll bugle at Suryapet

In the light of competitive padayatras being undertaken by TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and YSR Congress leader Sharmila across the Telangana region, the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) on Sunday sounded the revival of the Telangana agitation ahead of the general elections with their ‘Samara Bheri’ at Suryapet.

Delivering high-voltage dialogues in a typical Telangana accent, TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao flung abuses at both parties and told people “not to fall prey to the empty promises of Andhra deceivers”. “You have seen both rajyams of Chandranna and Rajanna. If Chandrababu Naidu started exploiting the resources of Telangana region, Rajasekhara Reddy went further and looted the land, water and even mineral resources for the sake of his son and daughter. If Naidu came in the way of  the formation of Telangana state, it was Rajasekhara Reddy who heckled the aspirations of people of the region by saying that the acceptance of 100 crore people of the country was needed to form the Telangana state,” the pink panther said.

“Even YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has got the dubious record of staging protest against Telangana in Parliament by holding Samaikyandhra placards. Will anybody, who has self-respect, vote for these parties which opposed and belittled the sentiments of Telangana people?” Rao questioned at the massive public meeting.

Sunday’s “Samara Bheri” is the first of the series of meetings planned by the party to revive the agitation and rejuvenate its cadres in the run-up to the 2014 polls. The meeting also assumed significance as it was the first one in many days in which KCR and TJAC chairman Prof. M Kodandaram shared the dais.
