Rain likely in coastal Andhra, Telangana

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely over a few places in coastal Andhra and Telangana in the next 48 hours.

As per the weather forecast, the depression over eastern Madhya Pradesh and adjoining Chhattisgarh moved slightly westwards and lay centred over south-east Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas of Vidarbha and  Chhattisgarh, about 100 km south-southeast of Jabalpur. The system will move west-north and weaken gradually in the next 24 hours. Due to the depression, Adilabad, Karimnagar, Khammam and Warangal districts received heavy rainfall in the past 24 hours. The average rainfall recorded on Friday was 3.2 mm. The water level in Godavari rose at Bhadrachalam on Friday.

According to officials, the total number of deaths reached 25 till August 1. Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy reviewed the situation with chief secretary PK Mohanty and other  officials at his camp office on Friday.
