A special team caught two lorries and arrested two smugglers besides seizing 190 red sanders logs weighing about six tonnes on Sunday morning in Rajampeta forest division of Kadapa district.
Talking to PTI, Rajampeta Divisional Forest Officer Bhasker Raju said that, based on a tip-off, special teams found a lorry carrying ninety logs covered with citrus bags and added that two persons were arrested near Gundlur check post, in Kadapa district.
The special team chased and caught another lorry carrying 100 logs, he said, adding that occupants of the lorry ran away, he said.
The value of the logs in the international market could be around Rs 40 lakh, he said.
