PIL over Chandrababu Naidu's assets

The Lokayukta will conduct a hearing on a petition of disproportionate assets against former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Feb 26.

The petition, filed by Telangana Junior Advocates Association leader S Janardhan Goud, alleges that the Telugu Desam president has acquired assets disproportionate to known sources of his income.

If the Lokayukta thinks the petition offers substantial ground for ordering an inquiry, it will serve notices to Naidu.

The petitioner named 18 respondents including several officials and non-officials.

The chief secretary, principal secretary (home), DGP, enforcement directorate, SEBI, Nara Bhuvaneswari and N Lokesh are some of the respondents.

The representative of the T Junior Advocates Association alleged that when Naidu was chief minister, he amassed properties and increased his family’s assets through questionable means.
