CPM to organise jatas from March 1

The CPM’s state committee has decided to organise jathas to protest the steep hike in power tariff. Region-wise jathas would be organised from March 1 with other like-minded parties.

A CPM state committee workshop held Saturday observed that around a burden of Rs 32,000 crore was being imposed on power consumers in addition to regular power cuts, which are likely to increase in the months to come, the party observed. The party blamed the lopsided policies of the state government for the present power crisis.
