Chandrababu Naidu completes 2000 km of padayatra

Telugu Desam supremo N Chandrababu Naidu completed 2000 km of his Vastunna Meekosam Yatra on Tuesday.

Naidu thanked people for the ‘love showered on him’ during his padayatra.

He garlanded the statue of NTR, cut a cake and released 2000 balloons in the air to mark the occasion at NTR circle in Guntur.

Addressing a public meeting there, the TD chief said even after 65 years of independence, large sections of the society are still reeling under the curse of poverty.

Claiming that roads and other basic amenities witnessed development during the TDP regime, Naidu alleged that Congress leaders are robbing public money in the name of government welfare schemes.

Naidu claimed the TDP initiated power sector reforms to reduce burden on the consumer.

“The present Congress government is imposing heavy burden on the people with fuel charges adjustment of `32,000 crore,” he said. The TD chief said the Congress government did nothing to check soaring price rise of essential commodities and failed to give clean rule to the people during the last nine years.

“TDP has given many leaders for the past 30 years and they are serving the people well,” Naidu said.

Terming the YSR Congress as ‘jail party’, he expressed pity to the leaders, who he claimed are offering suitcases stuffed with money to join the YSR Congress and contest the next elections.

“YSRC president YS Jaganmohan Reddy went to jail due to his involvement in a number of scams,” he said.

Naidu promised houses to the poor, interest free loans to auto-rickshaw drivers with Rs 5 lakh as insurance.

The TDP chief has covered 55 Assembly constituencies, two municipal corporations and 107 towns in 12 districts during his Vastunna Meekosam Yatra till date.
